Allowing Loved Ones to be HOT: Honest, Open and Trusting

October 30th, 2011

My dad and I had a very honest, open and trusting conversation (HOT) today.

My dad is a very traditional person. I’ve come to accept that at his age of 71, he has a different world view compared to mine. I’ve accepted the fact that he has beliefs in his life that are different for my own beliefs in my life. We’ve learned to respect each other amidst our very different way of living our lives.

Sometimes my dad keeps his thoughts or feelings to himself. Sometimes he feels that I might feel bad about something he says – thus he chooses to not express his thoughts or feelings. This may be because in the past, I expressed disagreement or even disapproval of my dad’s opinions or thoughts. I realize now how I have contributed to my Dad’s misgivings about expressing his thoughts to me.

But today, with the encouragement of Keric, my dad expressed himself to me. Dad called me for a private conversation in his room and expressed his thoughts about how I use my time and energy.

I responded with three messages:  Read the rest of this entry »

Saying Goodbye to a 5-year Dysfunctional Relationship

October 25th, 2011

The moment we met, I saw the makings of a long-term relationship. (1)
We started strong in August 2006. (2)
And as often as I could, I would text her, find out how her family was, pray that they were safe in their home during the big storms.
I brought gifts for her and the family during the holidays.

Goodbye old one, a new one is coming.

Goodbye. Gone like bula.

But along the way, we encountered challenges. (3)

I felt I gave all the patience I had. She felt she deserved more.

Along the way, it was getting harder to communicate with her.
She was starting to come up with so many excuses.
I was getting tired. She was increasingly difficult to deal with.

In 2007, I wanted to break-up. (4)
She was enraged! She said Read the rest of this entry »

Novena to God’s Love

October 23rd, 2011

Novena to God’s Love
by Bo Sanchez

Today, I receive all of Gods love for me.
Today, I open myself to the unbounded, limitless, overflowing abundance of God’s universe.
Today, I open myself to God’s blessings, healing and miracles.
Today, I open myself to God’s Word so that I become more like Jesus every day.
Today I proclaim that I am God’s Beloved, I am God’s Servant, I am God’s Powerful Champion,
And because I am blessed, I am blessing the world In Jesus’ Name!
Amen!

What I’m thankful for:

  • Attending The Feast, being blessed by Bro George Gabriel’s sharing.
  • Hearing about Bo opening The Feast in the US (is it LA or New York … siguro LA because of the Filipino Community).
  • Long lunch and kwentuhan after attending The Feast together with Rezza, Pol, Aries, Mares, Jo-Anne, Dennis.
  • Getting ready for a brand new day tomorrow and a brand new week ahead!
  • Speaking to Dad and Mom.
  • Receiving a call from a corporate client — opportunity for RR sales.
  • Cash Cow! We shall face the cow eye-to-eye on Tuesday! ;-)
  • I am thankful for the Prayer for the Novena to God’s Love
