The PASSION Virtual Assistant Team

Short description of requirements:

1. Admin assistant – Responsible for timely completion of online spot jobs for the various online properties (websites, blogs, social media accounts). Must be web savvy, easy to teach.
2. Bloggers/Writers – Will be writing in topics ranging from finance, online communications, personal development. Must be able to research on the topics/products/services online and create short and sweet articles.  You will be given enough material to work with. Must be able to tell stories in plain and simple English. Personal experience in the topics is *not* a requirement.
3. Web Developer – The job requires experience in using/customizing WordPress blogs (hosted in our servers), plugins, themes. Must be experienced in developing a website, use of cpanel, other web development tools. Experience in facebook connect is a huuuuge plus. Must be able to integrate site with social media (facebook, twitter, etc.)
4. Graphic Artist – Must be able to create logos, website designs, edit/enhance photos etc.
5. Video Editor – From raw videos (mobile videos, point-and-shoot videos), the video editor will be assigned to create engaging videos with excellent soundtracks, useful subtitles and summary shots (key messages).
6. Social Media specialist – Will be assigned to manage multiple social media accounts (facebook, twitter, blogs etc.) for various clients. Must have extensive understanding of how to interact with followers in a tone that aligns with the persona of the clients we represent.
7. Project Manager – THE single point of contact. Will manage the team. Will assign the activities. Will help the team understand the requirement of the clients. All fun! ;-)

It was a good interactive presentation. Got people on their feet. Presented some case studies, many of which are close to my heart. And we got people thinking about what they can do as student journalists in the blogging space. We answered questions and I hope all these have helped the audience take home something useful and actionable.

Today is a good day to start. After the jump, I’ll share where I’ve heard about mind-mapping, a few links on mind mapping, my first ever mind-mapping project which is open for everybody to add to. ;-)

A mind map is a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items linked to and arranged radially around a central key word or idea. Mind maps are used to generate, visualize, structure, and classify ideas, and as an aid in study, organization, problem solving, decision making, and writing.

I first heard about mind mapping from my brother Elmer. His friends know mind mapping is something kelmer needs. He’s got so many ideas in his head, you’ll need a jungle knife to clear through all of the vines!

Steve Pavlina and Jack Canfield both recommend using Mind mapping. It’s useful for capturing ideas and even planning. My trainer and speaker friend Raju also teaches Mind Mapping (but hasn’t treated me to a seat in his training :D  hehehe…) .

I know I’ll find mindmapping useful. I’m an ideas person. Or in Strengths Finder terms, one of my talents is “Ideation”.

I probably already use a form of mind mapping already. The most kindergarten form of mind mapping, perhaps, is having lists of things.

So when I stumbled upon Mindmapinspiration, I took delight in reading through Paul Foreman’s website. He has many books on mindmapping. I downloaded a free printable e-book about how to draw a mindmap.

Today I tried out mindmeister.com and finally got my hands dirty in creating my first mindmap. It’s intuitive, very easy to use. I just tried out the version history. It’s sooo cool, like watching my ideas being captured into visual form! So nice! (now how do i protect the versions?)
